A letter to myself and (you) about working out.

Liza Scott December 14, 2015

I love working out.

I love it so much I made it my full time job.

But, there are some days I really do not want to go and workout.

“Just go tomorrow, you need to rest, I’m sore, I can get other work done” are all excuses that run through my head.

Even though, I LOVE to workout.

Why do I love it?

Because it literally gives me a high.

It makes me feel invincible, it makes me happy, it makes me forget about all the crap I actually have to do.

It helps me release all those irrational thoughts too. It’s therapy.

After I workout, I make better decisions, I have more energy, I work better, and I’m a nicer person.

Working out releases chemicals from your brain that make you feel this way. Why wouldn’t you use this “natural” drug?

You don’t have to do a crazy Crossfit workout or run 20 miles to get that same feeling… but it sure does help.

You could literally do a 30 minute workout at home, and feel that sensation of euphoria.

Go for a walk, do yoga, lift weights, play with your kids or pets. Just MOVE.

Forget about your goals for a day, your pr’s, how you want to look a certain way…etc. Move without limitations.

It’s really easy to stay home, and not do anything.

That’s the beauty of it.

You don’t need to go to a gym. Your body is always available, so use it.

To all who struggle to get to the gym or just move….think about how great you feel after that workout, or walk, or bike ride. Write that down.

Remind yourself of how good you felt, and don’t waste another day without moving.
